Roadhouse opened in Thamel in 1992. It had just one wood-fired oven. Today, the group runs cafes across Kathmandu and Pokhara, a rooftop restaurant in Durbarmarg, a deli chain, and a boutique hotel. And through it all, one constant is what the guests say when they leave.
This article reports on verified Roadhouse reviews on Google, Tripadvisor, Booking.com, and Wanderlog.

Almost every Roadhouse review starts with the food. Often, it starts with the pizza.
One guest at Roadhouse Cafe Jhamsikhel described the smoke-infused pizza as "an absolute delight for the taste buds." Another on Google said the crust is "crispy and thick" with "generous, mouthwatering cheese." At Bhatbhateni, a reviewer who said they had never been a pizza person wrote: "The wood-fired oven pizzas at Roadhouse have made me a convert."
For Roadhouse Cafe Boudha, a TripAdvisor reviewer noted: "The pizza was absolutely delicious. Perfectly baked, loaded with fresh toppings, and full of flavor."
The Pokhara branch alone holds over 1,000 five-star reviews on TripAdvisor.

One pattern runs through Roadhouse reviews across every city and platform: guests name their server.
Evan, server at Roadhouse Cafe Bhatbhateni, appears in multiple reviews. One guest wrote that he made "dinner an even better experience." Astha and Dipendra from Roadhouse Cafe Thamel are named in separate reviews by different guests as professional, friendly, and attentive.
Roadhouse Cafe Jhamsikhel received praise from a guest with a gluten intolerance: "They helped us find things on the menu that would be super safe, and they tasted delicious."
A regular guest at Pasa Deli singled out team member Numa: "She is exceptionally good at what she does and genuinely one of the kindest people I have ever met." Mr. Sujan and Hari, at the Boudha PASA location, have received individual mentions in Wanderlog reviews.
At Roadhouse Pokhara, server Mausam and host Hangma Rai each appear in multiple reviews. One guest wrote: "Hangma is a great host," and promised to return specifically because of her.

The Boudha branch of Roadhouse Cafe is located near the Boudhanath Stupa. The view is part of the experience, and guests talk about it.
One returning guest wrote: "I prefer this branch to the one in Thamel. The ambience and patio views across the Stupa are magic." Another described it as "a little trip to Europe with a super view and nice ambience." A third called it the place they go "when needing a dose of western food" after returning to Nepal, trip after trip.
The wood-fired pizzas here are described as "better than the other KTM staple" by one reviewer who compared Roadhouse to its most-named competitor in the same sentence.

Mezze is the most elevated format in the Roadhouse portfolio. A full rooftop restaurant and bar with zodiac-inspired cocktails, a walk-in wine cellar, outdoor BBQ and sushi stations, and panoramic city views.
One TripAdvisor reviewer called it "absolutely the best place for fine dining and atmosphere in Kathmandu." Another said, "I recently dined at Mezze Roadhouse, and it was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere is vibrant, with a great mix of modern and cozy vibes." A third noted: "The house wine is good and that in KTM is rare."
Mezze holds a 2025 Travelers' Choice award from Tripadvisor. The medallion steak and grills draw their own praise. One guest noted: "The grills are excellent and so are the pizzas and pasta." The same reviewer told readers: "Don't miss this place when visiting Kathmandu."

Hotel Roadhouse is a 30-room boutique property built in traditional Newari architectural style. It's in Thamel, directly connected to Roadhouse Cafe.
One Tripadvisor reviewer wrote: "Best hotel in Thamel by far. Service is excellent, concierge is top, breakfast was amazing with some western options, the room is the best I had in Kathmandu, comfortable bed, good AC, perfect location, and soundproof." He added that it would be the only hotel he stays at in Kathmandu going forward.

A group that has brought travelers to Hotel Roadhouse "three years in a row" described it simply as "our home away from home." On Booking.com, a reviewer wrote: "Road House Cafe serves the best food in Kathmandu, especially if you're not into the local cuisine."

PASA Deli operates on the deli concept. It runs two locations: Bhatbhateni and Boudha. Both serve Segafredo Zanetti coffee from Italy, and an all-day food menu.
A Wanderlog reviewer wrote after visiting Boudha: "We had some nice pizza with a good view of the Buddha stupa and all the devotees walking by." Another called it a place for "a good meal or a snack and a tasty drink" with a view that earns the visit alone.
At Bhatbhateni, the Loaded Potato Skins and Classic Innovative Momo receive the most mentions. One reviewer said their visit "was nothing short of delightful, right from the moment we stepped in."
